Reflex performance glass:
Buying the right glass for your conservatory can save
you money on expensive blinds and reduce overheating
in the peak of summer.
Reflex glass: Research has
shown that eighty percent of conservatory owners will
spend over one thousand pounds on internal blinds within
eighteen months of purchasing a conservatory. Conservatory
roof manufacturers do not advocate the use of blinds
with their roof systems.
Reflex glass reduces solar gain:
A typical south facing installation during summer can
reach temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius making the
conservatory unbearable and a true hot house. With RE-FLEX
the internal temperature is reduced by ten to fifteen
degrees Celsius cooler, allowing the conservatory to
be enjoyed for more hours a day
Reflex glass retains heat:
In the winter a cold conservatory can be a cold room
but thanks to RE-FLEX fifty percent more heat is retained
than a standard double glazed unit. Which leads to lower
heating bills and more comfortable use of your conservatory
even on the coldest of winter nights.
Reflex glass features: RE-FLEX™
glass used in both the conservatory roof and side frames
(Neutral clear option for maximum light transmittance)
tackles the twin problems of overheating in summer and
keeping warm in winter.
Five reasons why reflex high performance
glass should be used in conservatories
Reflex glass reason one: An
invisible metallic coating on the inner surface of the
external pane reduces the solar heat energy that can
enter the conservatory. Solar heat transfer is reduced
by up to seventy-five percent compared to a standard
double glazed unit. The subtle light blue tint reduces
glare by up to forty-four percent but still ensures
good light transmission for both visual and thermal
comfort.
Reflex glass reason two: The
heat loss co-efficient is reduced to 0.9 W/m2.K on RE-FLEX™
plus with argon gas. This low U-Value is equivalent
to a cavity brick wall and offers excellent insulation
properties for big savings on winter heating. Because
the loss of heat from inside to outside is reduced,
it is much easier to keep the climate indoors at an
even temperature making savings on summer air conditioning
Reflex glass reason three:
An 'easy clean' external surface treatment to the glass
reduces the need for cleaning and makes dirt and bird
mess easy to remove. The hydrophobic polymer coating
promotes water run off which washes dirt and mess away
with the rain, keeping the glass looking fresher. Developed
for marine applications this coating is ideal for conservatory
roofs where access for cleaning is difficult
Reflex glass reason four: The
latest duel seal high performance manufacturing techniques
allow us to offer RE-FLEX™ insulated glass units
with an extended warranty against unit seal failure.
Every glass roof comes complete with after care instructions
for the homeowner and fitting guidelines for the installer.
RE-FLEX™ uses the very latest robotic manufacturing
a system, which means that the glass is only touched
by human hand at the very end of the process when it
is one hundred percent quality, inspected.
Reflex glass reason five: RE-FLEX™
is twice as effective as Pilkington K glass™ at
reducing solar heat, allowing homeowners to use their
conservatory for longer periods in summer and winter.
Often the most favourite room in the house, a conservatory
should be as comfortable as possible, RE-FLEX™
allows owners to maximise the use of their conservatory.
Expensive blinds are no longer needed for the RE-FLEX™
glazed roof, making this a sound investment for the
modern day installation.
Reflex glass the next generation of
glass for conservatories and replacement windows:
RE-FLEX™ is the next generation of conservatory
roof glass designed specifically for the British weather.
This smart glass uses an invisible metallic coating
that is applied to our glass using the latest coating
technology
Fifty percent:
Light transmission on blue tint option
Seventy percent: Light
transmission on clear option
Ninety-five percent: UV
rejection protects furniture & fabrics
What makes reflex high performance
glass work: The thin coating that RE-FLEX™
features is unique to reflex glass product and is applied
under license in the UK. This combination coating keeps
out up to seventy-five percent of solar heat but with
maximum light transmission of up to seventy percent
on clear Reflex and in winter keeps in fifty percent
more heat than a normal double glazed unit, reducing
heating and air conditioning costs. The subtle blue
tint option reduces the suns glare by forty-four percent
giving a feel good factor and lifting the feel of the
day. Harmful UV transmission is cut by up to ninety-five
percent eliminating sun damage to furniture and fabrics.
How can you make sure if specified
you get reflex performance glass installed in your conservatory
or replacement windows: Many homeowners request
reflex after seeing the benefits in our glossy eight
page brochure but are then duped into a lower spec product
with out a 20 year guarantee. To make sure this doesn't
happen to you, look out for the reflex logo burnt into
the corner of the glass units. In addition to this a
unique manufacturing job number should be printed on
the spacer bar inside the unit on the longest side about
three mm high X fifty mm long in tiny yellow along with
the manufacture date. It should look like this: RE-FLEX
PERFORMANCE SAFETY GLASS UNIT -- MANUFACTURED TO EN1279
PT 2--- MARCH 2006
Specify RE-FLEX conservatory glass to give
you a conservatory that is more comfortable throughout
the year.
